These series of sentences can be super confusing for most English speakers. 좋아요 basically means good. 좋아해요 means like as a verb.

It can be extremely confusing because 좋아요 can be used to signify that somebody likes sth when used with 저는/그는/그녀는. Let’s think of some examples.

사과는 좋아요 means apples are good. But you also say 저는 사과는 좋아요 or 저는 사과가 좋아요 to indicate that ‘I like apples’

좋아해요 and 싫어해요 simply mean like and dislike each.

저는 사과를 좋아해요.

저는 사과를 싫어해요.

저는 커피를 좋아해요.

저는 커피를 싫어해요.

These patterns are very easy. Let’s summarize

사과는 좋아요. = Apples are good.

저는 사과는 좋아요. = I like apples. (Regarding me or to me, apples are good)

저는 사과를 좋아해요. = I like apples.

Practice makes perfect.
